What documents do I need to fly my pet from Paris to London?

Bringing your pet from Paris to London is well-established and straightforward if you follow the steps carefully. We recommend beginning preparations at least 4–6 weeks before travel, as some treatments have strict timing windows. We will track key documents in our portal where noted.

Step 1

Your dog

When travelling from France to the UK, your dog will need to:

•
Have a valid EU Pet Passport or a UK-compliant Animal Health Certificate (AHC), with microchip and rabies vaccination details correctly recorded.
•
Have an ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchip implanted before their rabies vaccination.
•
Have a rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days before travel, after microchipping.
•
Be at least 15 weeks old at time of entry into the UK.
•
Receive tapeworm treatment from a vet, administered between 24 and 120 hours (1–5 days) before scheduled arrival in the UK. The treatment must contain praziquantel or an equivalent effective against Echinococcus multilocularis.

Step 2

Your cat

Cats require the same core documentation as dogs, with one key difference:

A valid EU Pet Passport or Animal Health Certificate for UK travel, with microchip and rabies vaccination recorded.
•
An ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchip implanted before the rabies vaccination.
•
A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel, administered after microchipping.
•
Cats must be at least 15 weeks old to enter the UK.
•
No tapeworm treatment is required for cats.
