Flying Across Northern Europe

Vicuna Air is a shared private aviation charter service for pets and their owners, with pets travelling alongside their owners in the cabin. Our European journeys are centred on Brussels, with onward overland connections available to Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. There are no cargo holds and no separation.

Why Northern Europe?

Northern Europe is in near-constant motion. People move around Europe for work, for family, for the life waiting at the other end – and, increasingly, they move with their pets.

It is one of the most travelled regions anywhere on the map. Yet for years, the only options for the animals making that journey were a small carrier beneath a seat or, for anything larger, the cargo hold.

The problem with how pets fly today

On most commercial airlines, a dog above a certain size travels internationally in the cargo hold – crated, in a pressurised but isolated compartment, for the length of the flight. The owner is separated from their companion entirely, often for many hours.

For an anxious dog, an older one, or a flat-faced breed for whom air travel carries genuine risk, it is rarely a comfortable prospect. For many owners, it is not an acceptable one.

We Took a Different View

"Northern Europe is one of the busiest travel and relocation corridors in the world, and for most pets that journey has meant hours alone in a cargo hold," said Jamie Everett, founder of Vicuna Air and a former RAF pilot. "We built Vicuna Air so it wouldn't have to be that way. On our flights, your pet travels beside you, not beneath you. They're not cargo. They're companions."

How our European network works

Our European journeys are centred on Brussels. From there, passengers and pets can continue overland to Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt, allowing the journey to continue without switching to a commercial flight.

On the flight sector, dogs travel in the cabin beside their owners from departure to arrival. Where an onward European connection forms part of the journey, our team can help coordinate the overland transfer from Brussels.

From the moment you enquire through to your arrival, our team helps coordinate the details around your journey.

Flying From September

Our expanded European network begins operating from 16 September. A limited number of seats are available, with private charter also available worldwide on request.
